Article types

Research article

Original research with a clear question, theoretical framework, methods, results and discussion. Systematic reviews and meta-analyses should follow PRISMA guidance.

A critical synthesis of existing literature, identifying gaps and future directions. Scoping reviews should follow the PRISMA extension and include the completed checklist.

Prepare your manuscript

Use the Word template or prepare your manuscript in LaTeX. The full Instructions for Authors set out requirements for each article type and supporting file.

Data, ethics and disclosures

Make your research transparent and reproducible. Explain where supporting data, code and materials can be accessed, and disclose any ethical, legal or privacy restrictions.

Include the relevant statements

State author contributions, funding and any conflicts of interest. Include ethical approval and informed consent where applicable. A data availability statement is required even when no new data were created or access is restricted.

Use of generative AI

Disclose substantive use of generative AI in the methods and acknowledgments, including the tool, version and purpose. Authors remain responsible for the content. Superficial language editing does not require disclosure.

Peer review and revisions

The Editorial Office coordinates the process; Academic Editors make decisions on scholarly merit. Authors may be asked to revise their work before a final decision is reached.

From submission to publication

1

Technical and editorial checks

The Editorial Office checks completeness and ethics requirements. An Academic Editor assesses scope and scientific soundness.

2

Independent expert review

At least two review reports are collected for manuscripts proceeding to peer review.

3

Revision and decision

Respond to comments point by point and explain any changes. The Academic Editor evaluates the manuscript and author responses.

4

Production and author proofs

Accepted manuscripts proceed to copy-editing, typesetting, author proofreading and publication.
